European Car Tuning Magazine Feature: European Auto Source’s BMW M4

European Auto Source (EAS) annually participates in the European Car Magazine Tuner Grand Prix, showcasing their latest BMW project car. This year, EAS entered a modified Austin Yellow BMW F82 M4, marking their first foray into the competition with a turbocharged vehicle. This article delves into the performance enhancements that make this M4 a track-ready contender, perfect for any European Car Tuning Magazine.

EAS’s M4 boasts an impressive 559 horsepower and 605 lb-ft of torque at the wheels, achieved through a series of targeted upgrades designed for optimal track performance and safety. This makes it a prime candidate for coverage in a european car tuning magazine.

Performance Enhancements for the Track

Beyond raw power, EAS focused on enhancing the M4’s handling and braking capabilities. Knowing that lowering springs are sufficient for street driving but inadequate for track demands, EAS opted for KW Clubsport 2-way adjustable coilovers.

These coilovers allowed for precise adjustments, optimizing the M4’s suspension for the challenging Streets of Willow Raceway. This fine-tuning, along with the lowered ride height, significantly improved cornering performance, a key element often highlighted in european car tuning magazines.

To ensure stopping power matched the enhanced performance, EAS equipped the M4 with a Brembo GT big brake kit. This upgrade provided superior braking performance and fade resistance, crucial for aggressive track driving.

Further enhancing grip and handling, EAS chose lightweight and durable 18″ Apex EC-7 wheels wrapped in Continental Extreme Contact DW tires. This tire selection is well-regarded for high-performance track events, ensuring optimal traction and control.

From Street to Track: A Dual-Purpose Machine

Before the competition, Jordan Yost, EAS’s racing driver, put the M4 through its paces on the track. Emphasizing the car’s dual-purpose nature, Yost highlighted that the M4 was driven to and from the event, demonstrating its capability as both a street car and a track weapon. This versatility is a compelling feature often showcased in european car tuning magazines.
