Initial results indicate that using Penny saved travelers an average of ten minutes per trip compared to contacting customer support.
This upgrade aligns with evolving consumer needs. Priceline’s research reveals that over half of travelers would utilize AI to save time and secure the best deals. A significant majority (73%) of those familiar with generative AI believe it can streamline travel planning and booking. Priceline partnered with Google Cloud’s Vertex AI and OpenAI’s GPT-4 Turbo to enhance Penny’s capabilities and expand its reach across the platform.

The car rental Priceline tool powered by Penny allows users to plan and modify trips effortlessly. Penny provides destination recommendations, identifies the best deals, and offers personalized customer service around the clock. Key functionalities include:

- Troubleshoot with Penny: Modify itineraries, connect with live agents, check refund statuses, and access crucial travel information directly through interactions with Penny within the car rental Priceline tool.
