For sale by a true enthusiast, this meticulously maintained 2016 Chevrolet SS is reluctantly offered to a new owner. Life changes and priorities shift, and as much as it pains me to say it, it’s time for my SS to find a new garage. If you’re looking for a powerful, head-turning muscle sedan that has been upgraded the right way and cared for impeccably, then look no further.
There are a couple of key reasons why I’ve made the tough decision to sell. Firstly, family history has called. My dad passed away last year, and his beloved 1973 C10 pickup has come into my possession. This truck is the reason I fell in love with cars in the first place, a true family heirloom since ’73, having journeyed across the country. It’s been sitting idle since 1991, and I’m committed to restoring it to its former glory. The funds from the SS will directly fuel this restoration, bringing this classic truck back to life, possibly even as my daily driver down the line. It’s one of only two vehicles I could never part with (the other being my ’67 Bel Air).
Secondly, practicality has nudged its way in. My daily commute now takes me near the Washington DC area, where the roads are, shall we say, less than ideal. I simply can’t bring myself to subject the SS to those punishing conditions. I recently acquired a ’96 Crown Vic for commuting, and I find myself reaching for the Crown Vic for errands and local trips, leaving the SS sitting in the garage far too often. A car like this deserves to be driven and enjoyed, not just admired in storage.

Full Transparency – Flaws to Note:
I believe in complete honesty, so here are the minor flaws:
- Passenger Side Door Scratches: Some light scratches on the passenger side doors from when the car was shipped back from Germany by the previous (military) owner. No dents. These were touched up with color-matched paint and are now difficult to spot, but they are present.
- C-Pillar Dent: One very small dent on the driver’s side C-pillar near the top, caused by an acorn. It’s tiny, but worth mentioning.
Regarding the Florida Buyback Title:
It’s crucial to address the buyback history transparently. The car was subject to a manufacturer buyback in Florida due to a memory seat recall function that was not consistently returning the mirrors to the set position. Documentation from GM engineers regarding this issue is available and will be provided. Importantly, the Maryland title is clean and clear. This issue was a minor inconvenience, not a major mechanical or structural problem. The price reflects this history.
